oenm Irmgard Messin

Imgard Messin

Irmgard Messin was born in Mondsee/Austria and completed her flute studies at the Mozarteum University with Irena Grafenauer with distinction. She attended numerous master classes (Wolfgang Schulz, Michel Debost, Jeanne Baxtresser, Carine Levine, Istvan Matuz and Susan Milan) and played with the Gustav Mahler Orchestra, the Austrian Youth Philharmonic, the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Camerata Academica Salzburg and the Mozarteum Orchestra Salzburg, among others. She also won 3rd prize at the 4th International Flute Competition in Timisoara/Romania and has taught at Mahidol University in Bangkok and at the Mozarteum University Salzburg.

Since 1993 she has been a member of the œnm . œsterreichisches ensemble fuer neue musik and regularly performs at festivals such as Wien Modern, the Bregenz Festival, the Warsaw Autumn, the Salzburg Festival and the Munich Biennale. Her first solo CD “flute” with works of contemporary music was released in 2011.
