Katharina Teufel-Lieli

Katharina Teufel-Lieli was born in Linz and studied harp with Prof. Edward Witsenburg at the Mozarteum Salzburg. She then attended the master class in Würzburg with Prof. Giselle Herbert and has been a harpist with the Mozarteum Orchestra since 1996 as well as a member of the œnm . œsterreichisches ensemble fuer neue musik.

She is a lecturer and teacher at the Mozarteum University as well as a juror (e.g. “Prima la Musica”). Solo concerts with orchestra have taken her through many European countries. She is also the soloist of the Salzburg Fortress Concerts and plays numerous chamber music concerts.

In 2003 she recorded the highly acclaimed duo CD “Clarinet & Harp” with her husband Gabor Lieli. Since then they have played numerous concerts, including in Europe, Abu Dhabi and Japan. Presenting the harp as a versatile instrument is very important to the musician. In addition, she is open to all styles and plays old, contemporary as well as underground music (tour 2002 with the “Young Tenors”).
