Markus Sepperer

Markus Sepperer studied oboe at the Landeskonservatorium Klagenfurt (Prof. Michael Turnovsky), at the Mozarteum Salzburg (Prof. Lothar Koch), at the Hochschule für Musik Leipzig (Prof. Christian Wetzel) and at the Royal Academy of Music in London (Prof. Douglas Boyd, Prof. Celia Nicklin). Additional studies in free improvisation, regular involvement with electronic sound production and master classes at the international Ensemble Modern Academy deepened his training in contemporary music. He also studied photography, and his work has already been exhibited in Hong Kong, Macau, Beijing, Hefei, Cologne, Belgrade and Vienna.

Since 2007, Markus Sepperer has been a member of the œnm . œsterreichisches ensemble fuer neue musik and also plays regularly with Klangforum Wien, Ensemble Phace and Ensemble XX. Century. Internationally, he has worked with the Hong Kong New Music Ensemble and the soloist ensemble Kaleidoskop. As an orchestral musician he has played with the Vorarlberg Symphony Orchestra, the Carinthian Symphony Orchestra and the RSO Vienna.

He is a laureate of the Carinthian State Prize for Music.
