Stefan Konzett

Stefan Konzett – born in 1976 in Vorarlberg, studied trombone at the Tyrolean State Conservatory in Innsbruck and at the Mozarteum in Salzburg with Prof. Dany Bonvin.

He lives in Salzburg and works as a freelance trombonist in various orchestras, chamber music ensembles and jazz bands, as well as a teacher.

Since his studies, he has devoted himself especially to early music and performance practice with period instruments. This interest led to the foundation of the baroque ensemble “Musica Antiqua Salzburg”, which he leads and manages. He plays in baroque orchestras such as “Concerto Stella Matutina”, “I Barrocchisti” (conducted by Diego Fasolis), “Academia Montis Regalis” (conducted by Alessandro de Marchi), or “l’Orfeo Barockorchester” (conducted by Michi Gaigg).

He plays in the Camerata Salzburg, the Lungau Bigband and the brass ensemble SoundInnBrass-Austria, and as a guest in various orchestras such as the Mozarteum Orchestra Salzburg, the Orchestra of the Tyrolean Festival Erl or the Symphony Orchestra Vorarlberg.

He taught for several years at the Berchtesgaden Music Schools and since 2010 at the Musikum Salzburg. As a lecturer of the Archipelago Project he teaches at workshops and seminars worldwide, as well as at the Pädagogische Hochschule Salzburg. He has been a member of the oenm for many years.
